Who are we?

Atlantic Free Zone is the result of the effort of two companies: MEDZ (Caisse de Depôt et de Gestion) and Edonia World, which join their know-how and expertise in the European and Moroccan environment, and shown their proven capacity for implementing this project, through a strategic alliance signed before the King of Morocco.
         
 

1.   EDONIA WORLD

Edonia World is a group which designs, develops, builds and sells industrial parks, main residences and holiday homes.

The Group has over 25 years of extensive experience, which has carried out countless projects. It has developed more than 5 million square meters of industrial land and around 10 million square meters of residential land, with approximately 11 thousand properties built. Its construction subsidiary has built around 20.000 properties, as well as an enormous variety of public buildings such as hospitals, museums, schools, libraries, etc. In the industrial field, it has developed projects throughout Spain for clients such as DHL, DIA Alimentación, Grupo Vocento, Mercadona, etc.

2.   MEDZ

La Caisse de Depôt et Gestion (CDG) is a financial institution that was created as a public entity by Dahir (Royal Decree) in 1959. It is the main institutional investor in Morocco with 35% of the institutional savings and a total sum of one hundred billion dirhams in assets under management.

Its shares in ATLANTIC are through its subsidiary MEDZ, which deals in creating, building, developing and managing tourist and industrial activities in Morocco.

MEDZ is the Moroccan Government’s preferred partners when implementing strategic industrial, tourism and agricultural plans throughout the country.

Industrial Emergency Agreement

The Moroccan Government has designed a strategic plan to develop the industry over the 2009-2015 period. The plan, which was approved by the Ministries of Industry, Foreign Trade, Economy, State, and Employment and Training, among others, identifies seven sectors in which Morocco might offer a clear competitive advantages, one of which is the automotive industry.


Atlantic Free Zone is the first Integrated Industrial Platform and it has been designed as part of this programme, and open to companies from different fields. AFZ is one of only two Integrated Industrial Platforms (the other is an aerospace industry park) which is also Free Trade Zone, with all the tax and customs advantages involved.
