AFZ CO-ORGANIZES THE FIRST CONFERENCE “MOROCCO, COMPETITIVENESS HUB FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY”

Atlantic Free Zone, together with the AMDI and AutoRevista, organized on September the 15th the first Conference: “Morocco, competitiveness hub for the automotive industry” in Madrid.

Mr. Ahmed Reda Chami, Minister of Industry, Commerce and New Technologies of Morocco inaugurated the event with a conference on Morocco’s industrial strategy.

Afterwards, Mr Aziz El Atiaoui, Director of the AMDI in Spain, talked about investment opportunities in Morocco and Mr. Javier Navarro, CEO of Edonia Properties, presented Atlantic Free Zone industrial park. Renault and CEVA Logistics also presented their projects in Morocco.

In addition, a round table chaired by Mr Luis Miguel González, Director of AutoRevista magazine, was held with the following participants: Mr. Arsenio Hidalgo General Manger of EPP Natur, Mr. Félix Canales, Purchase Manager of General Motors Spain/Opel, Mrs. María Helena Antolín, Member of the Board of Directors of Grupo Antolín, Mr. Roberto Adrián, Human Resources and Communication Manager of Saint-Gobain Sekurit Spain and Portugal and Mr. Antonio Vega, General Manager of Viza Automoción. All of them shared their business experience in Morocco.

The Conference brought together more than 150 participants from Spanish and foreign companies from the automotive industry, interested in investing in Morocco.

Mr. Mario Conde gave the closing speech of the Conference.
